December 12, 2012, Earthquake in Canada, near La Malbaie, Quebec. Earthquakes Canada, the New England Seismic Network, and the U.S. Geological Survey report that an earthquake occurrred at 12:46 pm (EST), Wednesday afternoon, December 12, 2012, near the St. Lawrence River, northeast of Quebec City.

The largest earthquake of the 2006–2007 sequence, which reg-istered MLg 4.2, took place on 3 October. In stark contrast to the MLg 3.4 event on 22 September, the 3 October event was not preceded by any earthquakes during the 48 hours before the event, and the first aftershock following this mainshock detected
