Similar to Nvidia's DLSS where they feed the neural network tons of footage/images from games running at lower resolutions and high resolutions to help create the upscaling algorithm.

Mar 16, 2023 · You need HDR toggled on to use native HDR games just leave it on. Your desktop will still display in SDR and SDR games will still be SDR. Leave Auto HDR on too if a game doesn’t have native HDR well alot of games on win 11 support auto hdr which is kinda like a fake HDR but it works pretty well. Auto HDR won’t override a native HDR game

Aug 11, 2022 · Auto HDR is broken currently in WoW Dragonflight with the AW3423DWF - hdr peak 1000 mode just makes text glowing bright white and it's so uncomfortable. No settings seem to fix it, only thing that improves the situation appears to be setting the monitor to 'Display HDR' mode instead at 400 nits.

Jan 1, 2021 · Yeh I've found auto-HDR to be great as well, I expected it to be one of those features I immediately disabled as HDR is often poorly implemented as you say, but yeah it just works and definitely improves the image while lessening the problems caused by displaying 8-bit content on a 10-bit display (colour banding etc).
