Zeta Phi Eta, National Professional Fraternity in Communication Arts and Sciences, the oldest national group of its kind, was founded on October 10, 1893 at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, under the inspiration and guidance of Dr. Robert McLean Cumnock.

Zeta Phi Eta, Inc. is defined not only by the national organization, but by the identity of each of its chapters. Chapters include those of professionals and those at campuses. At one point in Zeta history, there were campus chapters in many colleges and universities nationwide.

Dec 1, 2024 · The Zeta Phi Eta Foundation distributes two awards annually: The Zeta Phi Eta Foundation Award and the Marguerite Garden Jones Award. Those who have been active members of Zeta Phi Eta for a minimum of one year (dues paid) are eligible to apply.

Zeta Phi Eta, National Council Roles. National Council is the administrative body of the Fraternity, it is composed of the following duly elected officers: President; First Vice President; Second Vice President; Secretary; Treasurer; Cameo Editor. Zeta Phi Eta is proud to announce the 2017 National Convention, October 5th - 8th hosted by the Beta Iota Chapter on the campus of University of Central Florida, Orlando FL. The theme for this convention is: Zetas Around the World.

A group of members of Zeta Phi Eta may organize a professional chapter in any locality with approval of National Council. There should be a professional chapter in the immediate vicinity of each campus chapter.
