History - SD State Fair
The history of the South Dakota State Fair is closely woven into the history of the state of which it is a part. Its origin was an act of the Territorial Legislature approved April 25, 1885, and signed by Governor Pierce at Bismarck, the capitol of Dakota Territory at that time.
Hours/Pricing - SD State Fair
State Fair Gate Admission Prices. Daily Adult: $10; Daily Youth (6-15): $5; Weekly Adult: $50; Weekly Youth: $25; Daily Family Pass (2 adults, 4 youth): $35 - Available only during the fair at admission gates. Free Gate Admission after 8 PM, Wednesday-Sunday! Free Gate Admission after 3 PM, Monday! State Fair Advanced Gate Admission Prices
