Jul 1, 2022 · NADA is a giant fucking mess. If you’re that concerned about NADA then look at the retail value of the vehicle your buying compared to the sale price. Then do the same for KBB. You have other real world offers at lower values than the dealerships. That means the dealership is giving you a fair value. NADA does not buy cars.

We look at auction data (what we can expect to buy or sell one for in real time) and local market data (what other dealers are asking for similar vehicles nearby). This tells us the true market value of a vehicle or the highest number customers are actually willing to pay.

The only values that can be considered similar amongst the two are NADA’s average retail value and KBB’s typical listing price. On many occasions, NADA’s pricing tool generates an average retail value significantly higher than KBB’s typical listing price.

Oct 1, 2021 · I don't know what the dealer would value it for, but I can tell the market fluctuates depending on time of year. I watch prices year round, I know they aren't as high as NADA is setting them atleast based off listing prices from Craigslist and Facebook. Maybe in some regions they hit NADA value, but certainly not in New England.

Oct 26, 2022 · In my experience, NADA seems to be the absolute worst in lower trade in values and higher retail prices. If anything KBB tries to say your car I'd typically worth more either private party, or you should at least be getting a higher margin on it. Not familiar with CoPilot, but my experience usually is KBB is more accurate

Feb 5, 2016 · The Camry is seeing a $2-3k estimated value online on these sites. On CL, I see offers for $4-5k The Sentra is seeing a $1.5-2k estimated value online. On CL, I see offers for $5-6k ii. Buy modern used ones. We are both interested in the Honda Civic 4D, and the 2013 Base is showing $12k online.

Jul 1, 2016 · Basing vehicle value on NADA Clean Retail ($17875) would have been better, and adding sales tax to that would have been fair. Then if we were paid the so-called restitution ($6052) on top of that it would have been generous compensation.

Example: in 2018 we bought our first Travel Trailer and I had to stick to NADA for financing purposes, we had a hard time finding anyone asking NADA retail value as they had all overpaid at dealerships when new, understandably. Apr 16, 2020 · The only state that requires NADA to be used in a total loss evaluation is Connecticut, which requires that the NADA price be averaged with one other source approved by the insurance commissioner. When we/I run a total loss in CCC the system is designed to comply with the rules for the particular state the car is being valued in.
