Sep 2, 2024 · Dolphin Research Center is located on Grassy Key in the heart of the fabulous Florida Keys. We're a little more than two hours from Miami and about an hour and twenty minutes from Key West. Please take travel time into account when booking your programs!

Dolphin Research Center is the ideal stop for group tours visiting the Florida Keys. Located at mile marker 59, DRC is home to a pod of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions that live in a natural lagoon setting in the Gulf of Mexico.

Our History - Dolphin Research Center
Dolphin Research Center was founded as a nonprofit corporation in 1984 by Jayne Shannon-Rodriguez and Armando "Mandy" Rodriguez. Their goal was to ensure the dolphins had a home here for life, and in doing so to establish a unique education and research facility.
