During French class in 1964, Buckley met Mary Guibert. Their relationship inspired some of Buckley's music, and provided both of them time away from their respective turbulent home lives. After almost a year of dating, Buckley and Guibert married on October 25, 1965. [ 9 ]

Mary Guibert is an American Zonian businesswoman notable for being the ex-wife of Tim Buckley and the mother/estate executor of Jeff Buckley. She was born in Panama but spent much of her childhood in Anaheim, California, where she showed promise as an actress and musician.
