Aug 3, 2011 · Use two bottle rinsers/vinators to rinse the bottles. This speeds things up. Fill bottles with clear, stabilized wine, pull corks from container as needed. Rinse the two tubs with the sink spray, put aside to dry, then capsuling, labels, and cool dark storage with the bottles laying down to keep the corks moist.

Jan 5, 2013 · Corks, Depends on the style, if it's a wine I don't plan on storing past a year I use cheap agglomerated corks and I don't do anything to them, I just fire them in the bottles. If I'm planning on ageing the wine I use #9 solid corks which don't go into bottles dry nearly as easy as an agglomerated cork.

Not only that, used corks have already expanded, when reused, you run the major risk of air getting past the cork and the wine getting oxidized. This isn't the right way to save money.

Oct 16, 2012 · What I do is get however many campden tablets I'm using for the wine (usually 6, since I tend to bottle 6 gallons at a time), and add that to 1 cup of water in the microwave. Bring that to a boil (about a minute), and stir very well. Do NOT breathe this! Put that container in a large boil, and then put the corks around the container in the bowl.
