Jan 15, 2012 · Does anybody know what type of single engine piston aircraft has the best NM range? Also "Reasonably priced"? I know factors come into play like weather conditions, power...etc. Under perfect conditions. Thank you in advance for your input!

Nov 28, 2010 · But that's characteristic of what you get when you engineer a piston single to stall at 60 knots and stil be able to make some airspeed. You only choice is to pay for the turbocharger, spend only 15 minutes in the climb, get on top of the bottom 10,000 feet where it's smooth, and again maybe 10 minutes in the descent.

Dec 13, 2020 · There's just not that many single piston airplanes with 6 seats that actually have enough useful load and CG range to be a true 6-passenger airplane. Those mentioned in prior posts, Cherokee Six, Cessna 206 and the Cessna 210, are probably the entire short list.

Mar 10, 2014 · The engine sounds far happier at that speed so I leave it there According to the supplemental AFM it shows that at 6,500 you can get 75 power at 2,650 RPM. I've never ran it that high... but if I'm seeing 117 to 122 alone at that altitude and 2500 RPM then I have to believe 125 is theoretically possible with the extra RPM

If you'd like to discuss I'd be glad to chat with you on the phone about it. I spent 8 years being very active in the Twin Cessna world, mostly when we had the 310 but also the 414. Certainly understand that.

Jan 1, 2010 · Right now, I'm thinking 310 is the best overall value and utility (if you get a good one). The AC 685 is my personal favorite for pax comfort, but I fear that it may have the highest operating cost. FWIW, the 200 kts cruise requirement is a rough number I figured to make a Virginia to Arizona trip doable in one day.

Jan 25, 2022 · Covid weight gain 50 lbs, baggage allowance deducted 50lbs. Makes a difference. Don’t mess around with fuel. Do your calculations with full fuel and passengers. Then consider your baggage. 4 people cannot fit in a 4 person aircraft, usually, for reasons of weight and balance, comfort, etc.

Dec 7, 2018 · A new Cessna T206H Stationair HD has a base useful load of 1,441Lbs. So for people saying it’s not possible to get close in a single piston of reasonable size, I say see here! It is indeed possible. But you’ll pay for it of course. And the plane is not complex but for the op the above would be the closest thing to a 172 flying style.

Mar 8, 2005 · I am 6'2" and 325 pounds. The most comfortable single engine I have piloted is a Commander 114TC. With a cabin that is 4 feet wide and 4 feet high it really does rival larger aircraft in terms of comfort and it has two big doors for ease of entry.
