Windows 11 isn't recognizing that my display can go up to 4K.
Aug 12, 2023 · I have a 4K display, yet Windows will only let me go up to 1080p with it. Here are some screenshots: This screenshot (taken in the Settings app) shows that the highest my monitor can go is 1080p. This screenshot (taken from the Intel Graphics app) shows that the highest my monitor goes is actually 4K.

Resolution issue (extra 4K resolution)in Windows 11 24H2
Dec 6, 2024 · The 4K resolution reamains even I plug out/in the USB docking again. The only way to remove that 4K resolution from display setting is that I set 1080P from the display setting. This issue occurs in Windows 11 version 24H2 but not present in previous versions.

Yes I have also tried rolling back my Nvidia GeForce driver to an older version and it does the same, meaning that the GeForce Control panel will recognize that my selected display resolution of 5120 x 1440 is the native resolution however Windows 11 does not as Windows 11 believes 2560 x 1440 is the native resolution.

Aug 9, 2015 · As mentioned originally - EXACT same configuration running Linux was working great driving 4K resolution. Sounds like other people (Jacob, in this thread) have the same issue. And it seems Windows 7 -> 10 suffers from same issue. For what it's worth - I have never had Windows 7 installed on this desktop, so I cannot confirm.

Apr 21, 2024 · I just purchased Phillips 28" 4K monitors. Windows 11 recognizes the monitors, but only offers a 1980 x 1080, 2048 x 1152 (1152 x 2048 portrait) resolution for them. Their recommended resolution is 3840 x 2160, but that resolution does nor show up in Display Settings, UPDATE: I am on an HP-Envy computer, and I was using a "Pluggable Hub".
