It’s been another difficult year in Pittsburgh, as the Penguins are trudging through another season that will see them finish on the outside looking in at the Stanley Cup Playoffs for a third straight campaign.

Rookie goaltender Joel Blomqvist made 27 saves on 33 shots for the Pittsburgh Penguins in a wild 6-5 overtime loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday at PPG Paints Arena. The result dropped Blomqvist’s record to 4-9-1.

The team made a deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs to acquire 26-year-old right-handed defenseman Conor Timmins and depth center Connor Dewar. According to TSN’s Chris Johnston, the Penguins parted with a late-round pick.
