Employees at the Novelis facility in Fairmont, West Virginia were told Monday morning that the plant will be closing within months.

Novelis, an aluminum rolling and recycling plant in Fairmont, will be closing for good on June 30th, according to multiple employees who spoke to 5 News.

According to Richmond Bizsense, Novelis offered the same reason for the Richmond site’s closure: a consolidation of its U.S.

A spokeswoman said the move comes as part of a company restructuring and the facility's closure would eliminate more than 70 jobs.
