Brandin Echols has decided to leave the New York Jets during the NFL's 2025 free agency period. According to reports including FOX Sports, Echols has agreed to terms with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Full terms of the deal have yet to be announced:

The New York Jets have yet to make the playoffs since 2010. Since then, 25 QBs have started for the Jets, and now it looks like Justin Fields will join the club. At 26, Fields will earn his third starting job with his third team.

While a fresh start may prove what Justin Fields needs at this stage of his career, he'll have to show that he can develop as a passer and be more than just a short-term starter with the Jets.
