Despite the declaration of an Easter ceasefire on Saturday, Ukrainian forces have recorded 59 instances of Russian shelling.

MOSCOW/KYIV -Russia and Ukraine accused each other of thousands of attacks that violated the one-day Easter ceasefire declared by President Vladimir Putin, with the Kremlin saying there was no order to extend the pause in frontline fighting.

Since the announcement of an "Easter truce" by Putin, Russia's Ministry of Defence says an exchange of 246 prisoners of war has taken place. The department adds 31 wounded Ukrainians were also exchanged for 15 wounded Russians as a "gesture of goodwill".
