Gov. Ron DeSantis vented frustration with GOP House leaders even as lawmakers advanced budgets with large gaps in many spending areas.
According to a study by the Florida Policy Institute, local governments in the Sunshine State receive a total of $42.7 billion in property taxes yearly, or about $2,000 per person. DeSantis told Loesch that Florida's popularity among tourists and snowbirds will allow the state to avoid income or property taxes easily.
DeSantis on Monday said state and local governments can maintain their "core functions" by offloading the tax burden on non-Floridians.
