Schoonmaker appears to be on the fast-track to becoming another Cowboys early-round tight end draft bust, joining the likes of David LaFleur, Gavin Escobar and Anthony Fasano, all of whom were selected in the first two rounds and none of whom got even close to the 1,000-yard receiving mark (total) with Dallas.

The Dallas Cowboys currently hold the No. 12 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, with there being clear needs that have to be addressed. This means a receiver or running back in the early rounds, with the move to get CeeDee Lamb 's help in the passing game thought to be the Cowboys' go-to move.

In its latest mock draft, B/R's NFL Scouting Department predicted that the Cowboys would use the No. 12 pick to select Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan and pair him with star wideout CeeDee Lamb.
