A local man is charged with killing his 12-year-old son and attempting to kill his 16-year-old daughter, a prosecutor said during his first appearance before a judge Friday.

Police say Jeremy Colonghi's profanity-laced online tirades against various police officers, private individuals and town employees her and in Waterbury led to his arrest on Friday.
