The Supreme Court temporarily blocked the Trump administration from deporting a group of Venezuelans detained in Texas, granting them a reprieve from being imminently sent to a notorious prison in El Salvador.

The Supreme Court early Saturday morning paused the deportation of immigrants potentially subject to the Alien Enemies Act, freezing action in a fast-developing case involving a group of immigrants in Texas who say the Trump administration was working to remove them.

In a brief order, the court directed the Trump administration not to remove Venezuelans held in the Bluebonnet Detention Center "until further order of this court."
