Central Bark Dog Park, at Martin L. "Marty" Snook Memorial Park, 17901 Halfway Blvd. in Hagerstown, opens Friday, May 16. According to a community announcement, the park will operate daily from 9 a.m.

The Rescue Oasis Park has a splash pad, playground and sports courts. The Oasis Swim Center, opening soon, has slides, a zipline and climbing walls.

A new water park will open Memorial Day weekend in Bettendorf. The YMCA Water Park at The Landing, 2255 Middle Road, Bettendorf, will open to the public Saturday, May 24.

Kings Island begins daily operations on May 14 but Memorial Day weekend is when the amusement park really gets going.
