A planned development in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, could result in the construction of the United Kingdom's longest indoor ski slope. The £300 million development, called Rhydycar West, would house the ski slope as well as an activity center and a water park.

The development is set to include a ski slope measuring between 400m and 424m in length, which the developer says will enable it to become the UK's national centre of excellence for snowsport and a training destination for the GB Olympic team.
