SOUTH CAROLINA (WLOS) — Officials with the South Carolina Forestry Commission have arrested three teenagers in connection with the Table Rock Fire, which has now spread to nearly 14,000 acres.
Three 18-year-olds were arrested and charged with arson for the Table Rock State Park fire. The fire started on March 21st and spread to Persimmon Ridge in Greenville County the following day.
The Forestry Commission said they’ve reached 30% at Table Rock and 64% at Persimmon Ridge. On March 29, the fire crews gained a level of containment at Persimmon Ridge for the first time.
For the first time, firefighters have made progress containing both fires. As of March 30, the Table Rock fire was 9 percent contained, and the Persimmon Ridge fire was 24 percent contained.
