After weeks of debate, intrigue and what Dan Wilson called “a very tough decision,” the Mariners manager and Seattle’s front office were finally ready to reveal their Opening Day starter on Saturday morning.

Entering his fifth big-league season, Logan Gilbert was rewarded for his work and performance by being named the Mariners' opening day starter.

Opening Day in Seattle belongs to Logan Gilbert. The reigning All-Star and standout starter has emerged from one of the league’s premier rotations, earning his first Opening Day nod when the Mariners host the Athletics at T-Mobile Park on March 27.
