Google's experimental version of Gemini 2.5 Pro sits at the top of AI leaderboards, and it's now becoming available for free users.

Google says Gemini 2.5 Pro (Experimental) is ready and waiting for free users to try on the web. Simply select the model from the drop-down menu and enter your prompt to watch the "thinking" happen. The model will roll out to the mobile app for free users soon.

The free plan will feature the entry-level Gemini 2.5 Pro model, which the company terms its “most advanced AI model” to date. Free users, however, will have more limited usage caps and will not be able to utilize some of the premium features, such as large file uploads or the full one-million token context window, that are given to premium users.
