The mural is inspired by a fan's hat, which went viral after he was removed from the AAC for chanting "Fire Nico," which he's worn since #77 was traded.

Fort Worth-based artist Juan Velazquez, who previously made a mural of Doncic when he was traded from the team, along with Armando Aguirre and Chris Taylor, put up another mural, calling for the firing of Dallas Mavericks GM Nico Harrison.

Chris Taylor, who was kicked out of a Mavericks game after protesting the team’s leadership, is now the subject of a downtown Dallas mural echoing his message. Artist Juan Velazquez says it’s a symbol of ongoing frustration over the team’s direction since Dončić’s departure. NBC 5’s Keenan Willard has the story.
