The unbeaten Los Angeles Dodgers rolled to a 6-1 win and the Braves fell to 0-5, their worst start since the 2017 team lost six of their first seven in a 72-90 season. That was the last time Atlanta failed to make the postseason.

Less than a full week into the season, the Braves have lost their key offseason acquisition to an 80-game suspension and placed one of their top starting pitchers on the injured list for the third time since August.

Holmes (0-1) took the loss against the Dodgers on Monday, allowing four runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three batters over four innings. This was actually Holmes' second outing of the campaign -- he came out of the bullpen for one scoreless frame in Atlanta's Opening Day loss to San Diego.
