Mississippi State baseball is aiming to avoid another SEC series sweep. The Bulldogs (16-11, 1-7 SEC) lost 2-1 at No. 6 LSU (24-3, 5-2) on Friday. They also fell 8-6 on Thursday in the series opener after blowing a 6-2 lead in the fifth inning.

Saturday's game was originally scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., but LSU coach Jay Johnson said after Friday's contest that Saturday's matchup will start no earlier than 5 p.m. "It is not official and I don't have total autonomy on that decision," Johnson said. "That's what I was told on the field after the game."

After winning game one on Thursday night against Mississippi State, LSU baseball clinched the series with a win on Friday night. The first opponent LSU would face would not even be the Bulldogs, it was the weather.
