Dubbed Sailing Yacht A, it is among the largest in the world – measuring 100 metres high and 143 metres long. It underwent testing in Gibraltar in 2017 before it was handed over to Melnichenko.
One of Russia's richest men, Andrey Melnichenko, said the Ukraine war had made him a "pariah." Melnichenko now lives in the UAE, where his $300 million Motor Yacht A is moored.
His $300mn Motor Yacht A has a berth here, a safe haven compared to that of its bigger brother, the $600mn Sailing Yacht A, which was seized by Italian authorities in Trieste.
It doesn't stop here, either. Since its arrest in March 2022, Sailing Yacht A has proved an even bigger pain in the neck, just not for the intended recipient, Melnichenko.
