The line of DeBrincat, Larkin and Kane hasn't been together much this season. But the three elite offensive players could certainly be effective.

Head coach Todd McLellan and the Detroit Red Wings suffered another brutal defeat on Thursday night. They faced their Atlantic Division rival Ottawa Senators at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

DETROIT –- Cam Talbot made 20 saves to help the Detroit Red Wings to a crucial 2-1 win against the Boston Bruins at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday. Talbot made a spectacular glove save on Casey Mittelstadt with 9.8 seconds left to preserve the win.

DETROIT – It was more than just a new-coach bump when the Detroit Red Wings went 17-5-2 in Todd McLellan’s first 24 games to resurrect their season. It showed that maybe coaching was an issue before McLellan arrived, that perhaps this team was more talented than its 13-17-1 record at Christmas indicated.

Detroit will try to earn a split of this two-game homestand after falling to the Ottawa Senators, 4-3, on Thursday. The Red Wings trailed by three goals around the halfway mark of the third period and while they made a valiant effort to cut their deficit to one, ultimately couldn’t make up the difference against the Senators.

Todd McLellan said after Thursday's morning skate at Little Caesars Arena that Cam Talbot would be available to back up Alex Lyon during the evening game against the Ottawa Senators. Goaltender Petr Mrazek and forward Elmer Söderblom, however, remain in sick bay.
