A news release issued by Southern University announced Friday that the U.S. Marshals took Semaj Joiner, who was identified as a suspect in the shooting, into custody in Texas on Thursday.

Semaj Joiner was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Fort Worth, Texas, on Thursday, nearly two weeks after the shooting.

A suspect accused of shooting and injuring a student on Southern University's campus was arrested in Texas Thursday.
