At least eight people are dead after a 71-vehicle pileup on Interstate 70 in Kansas during a dust storm on Friday. It took coordinated efforts from nearly every surrounding town and county more than 24 hours to reopen the highway in both directions between Colby and Goodland,

Eight people died and dozens more were injured in what appears to be one of the most deadly accidents in Kansas in recent years. More than 55 vehicles were involved. I-70 between Colby and Goodland remained closed Saturday afternoon after the accidents Friday when dirt driven by high wind caused low visibility on the highway.
