8 dead after 71-vehicle pileup during dust storm in Kansas

GOODLAND, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Highway Patrol confirmed that at least eight people are dead after a pileup on Interstate 70 near Goodland on Friday. The crash involved more than 70 vehicles. After more than 24 hours, both west and eastbound lanes of I-70 between Colby and Goodland are now open.

Eight dead, dozens injured in 71-vehicle accident during dust storm in western Kansas

Eight people died and dozens more were injured in what appears to be one of the most deadly accidents in Kansas in recent years. More than 55 vehicles were involved. I-70 between Colby and Goodland remained closed Saturday afternoon after the accidents Friday when dirt driven by high wind caused low visibility on the highway.
