NASCAR Hall of Famer Carl Edwards has been named the honorary starter for the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway on Sunday, officials said in a news release. Edwards notoriously won the 2015 Southern 500 to close out the inaugural Throwback Weekend at Too Tough to Tame.

NASCAR has penalized Sammy Smith 50 points and fined him $25,000 for wrecking Taylor Gray from the lead on the final lap of last weekend’s Xfinity Series race at Martinsville Speedway.
