Air India flight AI171, a Boeing 787-8 carrying 242 people, crashed after taking off from Ahmedabad on its way to London. There are reportedly no survivors.

A London-bound Air India flight with over 242 passengers and 10 crew members on board crashed on Thursday in the Meghani region of Ahmedabad, close to the city’s airport. The aircraft had taken off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 1.

Officials said 242 passengers and crew were on the aircraft, including 53 British nationals, 169 Indian nationals, one Canadian national and seven Portuguese nationals. “It appears there are no survivors in the plane crash,” Police Commissioner G.S. Malik said.

A total of 53 British nationals were on board a Gatwick airport-bound plane that appeared to explode when it crashed shortly after take-off, Air India has said.

Justin Fuller Spidey was on a small plane used for skydiving, along with 19 other people, when it crashed shortly after taking off from Tullahoma Regional Airport on June 8. The sky diving instructor spoke out about the incident hours later in a Facebook post.

A plane carrying more than 200 people has crashed at an airport in India. The Air India plane, flight AI171 bound for Gatwick Airport, is believed to have been carrying around 242 people.

Ahmedabad Police has released a list of 25 injured people in the plane crash in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
