The suit claims Midjourney pirated the libraries of the two Hollywood studios, distributing copies of characters such as Darth Vader, Elsa, and Shrek.

In the complaint, the Hollywood giants allege Midjourney generates “endless” ripoffs of everything from minions to Darth Vader.

And other AI image- and video-generating services, the studios say, have instituted copyright protection measures that recognize and protect the rights of content creators like Disney and Universal.
