Yesterday, longtime SNL writer Josh Patten weighed in on the controversy when he posted a picture of a Krispy Kreme truck with a caption that said “Get me to God’s country.” His joke was initially taken by many to be a shot at Wallen and proof that there was a rift with the cast and crew. The country singer was the musical guest on the March 29 episode of “SNL” hosted by Oscar winner Mikey Madison. At the end of the show, when the “Anora” star was saying her goodbyes as the credits rolled, Wallen left the stage instead of chatting with the cast and greeting one another, as most other guests do.
