Morgan Wallen doesn’t always love being famous. Speaking on Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast, the 31-year-old country artist, who shot to stardom as a contestant on season six of The Voice, said fame is “still weird” to him nearly a week after his abrupt exit from Saturday Night Live sparked controversy.

“SNL” cast member Kenan Thompson voiced his confusion at Wallen’s abrupt exit. “I don’t know what goes through people’s minds when they decide to do stuff like that,” the star, 46, told Entertainment Weekly on Monday. “I don’t know if he understood the assignment or not, or if he was really feeling a certain kind of way.”
