Ukraine claimed Saturday to have struck one of Russia’s largest oil refineries in a drone attack, starting a fire at the facility more than 700 miles into Russian territory.

Russia says it shot down more than 120 drones overnight, in what would be one of the largest attacks of the war.

The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces confirmed an attack overnight that hit Russia's Ryazan Oil Refinery and the Ryazan Thermal Power Plant, leaving them ablaze Thursday morning.

The Ryazan refinery, with a processing capacity of 17 million tons of oil per year, suffered significant damage. The attack also ignited a fire in a unit for hydrotreating diesel and aviation fuel, with locals reporting over 50 explosions on social media.
