STOCKTON – Three suspects are in custody after a high-speed chase and an officer was involved in a shooting early Saturday morning in the Stockton area, the California Highway Patrol said.

California Highway Patrol is continuing its crackdown on illegal street racing with four more people taken into custody.

With additional staffing and a maximum deployment effort, officers focused on addressing issues such as excessive speed, DUI offenses, and other factors contributing to crashes to enhance road safety.
