Nearly six months after wildfires erupted in Southern California, closing the Pacific Coast Highway in Los Angeles and burning thousands of acres, the iconic West Coast highway has reopened to the public.

FOX 11 Los Angeles on MSNPCH is back open, and Malibu businesses couldn't be happierA report recently released by Beacon Economics and the Pepperdine School of Public Policy says that since the Palisades Fire, local shops have seen an average 70% decline in businesses. So have restaurants and bars, where, on the aggregate, sales are down about $7.6 million dollars a month.
"It's a major artery for L.A., and Malibu has really become an island over the past four months," owner Tim Morris. "Looking at all the people who are regulars who have been giving us phone calls, 'Hey, are you guys open? How do we get to you?'"
