Employees at the Novelis facility in Fairmont, West Virginia were told Monday morning that the plant will be closing within months.

According to Richmond Bizsense, Novelis offered the same reason for the Richmond site’s closure: a consolidation of its U.S.

Novelis in Fairmont notified its employees during a meeting Monday that the facility is closing this summer, removing around 200 jobs that have been constant in Fairmont for more than 100 years.

Novelis, an aluminum rolling and recycling plant in Fairmont, will be closing for good on June 30th, according to multiple employees who spoke to 5 News.
