The iPhone's Camera app has been treated to a generous helping of new features over the past few years, from Photographic Styles to Apple ProRaw. But one thing Apple has failed to do is organize all of these features in a way that makes any real intuitive sense – until now, thanks to iOS 26.

Much of the premise of the new app is based on computational photography, which can refer to multiple processes. But, in the realm of smartphone photography, Adobe points out that it generally means slight underexposure to reduce highlight clipping and combining multiple exposures taken in rapid succession to reduce noise in shadows.

Apple announced changes to the iPhone's Camera app in iOS 26 , including simplified controls and a new app icon. Meanwhile, the Photos has moved the search button to the bottom-right corner, and FaceTime has moved the call controls to the bottom-right corner too.
