Reports emerged earlier this year that Meta was working with Oakley on smart glasses and it seems we're about to see the fruits of those labors. A new Instagram account called @oakleymeta has popped up and its first post teased an announcement for this Friday (June 20).

Meta confirmed the upcoming glasses today when an official "Oakley Meta" profile emerged on Instagram. (That account is following the Instagram accounts for Meta, Oakley, Mark Zuckerberg, Rocco Basilico, chief wearables officer at Luxottica, and Caloa Mato, head of global marketing at Oakley.)

The parent company of Instagram and Facebook has previously collaborated with Ray-Ban to bring its smart glasses vision to fruition.
