House Bill 28, which would eliminate replacement levies, is one of several ideas on the table to provide property tax relief.

The city council voted 5-0 Monday to set the maximum amount citizens would pay on their property taxes at roughly $17.66.

The city is proposing to keep its tax levy rate at $16.61 per $1,000 of taxable property, as it has been since fiscal year 2021.
