RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia State Police (VSP) is launching a campaign to crack down on dangerous driving on the Commonwealth’s interstates — starting with Interstate 64.
That’s because, aside from the interstates, Virginia cities maintain all their own roadways. Dozens of Flock cameras, for example, line Jefferson Avenue (State Route 143) in Newport News.
Starting Thursday in Virginia drivers can expect to see increased patrols from Virginia State Police as they conduct 'Operation DISSrupt' on all 299.45 miles of Interstate 64.
