UEFA have amended their rules over the Champions League trophy since the 2009/10 season with winning teams now receiving a full-size replica as the original silverware remains in UEFA's possession.

Yet, the cup they brought back to Paris is a licensed replica, not the real UEFA Champions League trophy. Since 2008, UEFA no longer allows clubs to keep the original trophy, even after multiple wins.
