Oscar voters will no longer be able to skip watching some of the nominated films. The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences on Monday announced that members will from now on be required to watch all nominated films in each category to be eligible to vote in the final round of Oscar balloting.

In an announcement Monday about rules for the next Oscars, the Academy also said that a film's use of generative AI and other digital tools "neither help nor harm the chances of achieving a nomination.

The Academy has changed its rules to require that Oscars voters watch all nominated movies in each category to participate in final voting.
