STANTON COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) - Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death of a Johnson City man after a standoff in Stanton County.

The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle traveling on Highway 24 entering Stanton and arrested the driver, 24-year-old Ellexys Wolff, for theft by receiving.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is investigating the death of 45-year-old Ricky Thompson who is believed to have shot himself during a standoff with law enforcement in Johnson City, KS.
