More than 30 bodies have been recovered after an American Airlines flight and a military helicopter collided and crashed Wednesday night into the Potomac River near Reagan National Airport, according to NBC 4 Washington.

The midair crash occurred before 9 p.m. local time when a Bombardier CRJ700 jet that had departed from Wichita, Kansas, collided with a Black Hawk helicopter.
