Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman will be out through the All-Star break due to the left oblique strain that landed him on the injured list for the first time in his career, interim manager Tony Mansolino told reporters.

Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman was placed on the injured list Saturday for the first time in his career because of a strained left oblique. The 27-year-old Rutschman had an MRI on Saturday morning and the Orioles announced the move about 15 minutes before their game against the Yankees.

The Orioles catcher landed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left oblique strain, the club announced. He underwent an MRI on Saturday morning after being scratched from the lineup Friday, interim manager Tony Mansolino said. Mansolino said Rutschman’s side “flared up” during batting practice before last night’s game.
