While early-afternoon starts were once common in Detroit during April, the Tigers had shifted most weeknight games to a 6:40 p.m. start time for 2025. The earlier starts were originally intended to avoid cold evenings, but with MLB’s pace-of-play rules speeding up games since 2023, that became less of a concern.

Game times have been changed to afternoon starts for the Tigers' upcoming home series against the Yankees because of impending weather issues.
